Sunny Deol is one of the most renowned actors working in Hindi cinema. Throughout his career, he has been a part of a number of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. The actor’s father, Dharmendra, is the person he looks up to the most, and he says this without any hint of favouritism. During an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Sunny grinned and said, “I have got my hero at home.” He continues by saying, “He is the only actor to thrive in all genres of film, and he has never been afraid to explore diverse parts throughout the course of his career.” He has appeared in a wide variety of films, including Satyakam, Chupke Chupke, Sholay, Pratigya, Phool Aur Phattar, and Anupama. I often wish I had been a working actor during his period.
Sunny thinks that back in the day, screenwriters and filmmakers had a firm grasp on audiences’ feelings, which is something that is lacking in films made in today’s period and age. “Back in the day, my dad would shoot for a number of different films in a single day, moving from set to set. Imagine how talented the writer and directors were if the performer was able to remain true to their character throughout the whole performance. “They didn’t have any written screenplays; everything was simply based on narrations,” he asserts, and then he goes on to say, “We have bind scripts in this day and age, but they aren’t even near to what was done in the past.” I never stop thinking about… I want to be a part of that age. Sunny is getting ready for the upcoming theatrical release of Chup, in which Dulquer Salmaan also plays a significant role. The R. Balki film that will be directed is going to be released on September 23. His co-star, Dulquer, remarks that it is astonishing how active his father is on social media. In response, Sunny affirms, “Yes, he is quite active on social media.” He is having a good time and he loves the platform. He communicates with everyone, never stops responding to messages, never stops wishing everyone well, and constantly bestows his blessings on others.
